Whist Markers chronology

From the history of Whist, we can guess a little about Whist Markers chronology:

 - As long as the games was only played in low social classes (about 1730), they were probably no elaborated Whist Markers.

- Most Long Whist Markers should be older than Short Whist Markers as Short Whist game progressively replaced Long Whist between 1800 and 1850. 

- Some Whist Markers got the name of well-know writer about the game. Of course their books had to be widely considered as " references " before their name could be associated to Whist Markers. For this reason we know, for example, that Cavendish Whist Markers were made after 1862 and Foster Whist Markers after 1890. 

But we know much more thanks to the research of Charles Mathes, especially for Short Whist Markers (after 1860). At this period, there are two main Whist Markers manufacturers in London : Goodall & Son, and De La Rue & Co.

Goodall and Son registered the Camden Whist Marker (1869 - Thank you M. Bodard for your precision) ,  the Pall Mall Whist Marker (29^th of August 1888) and the Foster Whist Marker (1892).

On his side, De La Rue & Co registered the Cavendish Whist Marker (23^rd of June 1868) , a Short Whist Marker (21^st of January 1871) as well as the " klik " Whist Marker.
